MESSAGE FROM THE EAST

Brethren, Families, and Friends,

                      With the fall weather in the air we can see our Masonic years end   rapidly approaching. I must say that being your Worshipful Master has been one of the greatest experiences of my life.  Being able to sit in the EAST at such an active lodge has given me a renewed love for Masonry. With all of this years ups and downs and lessons learned I can honestly say that I am sad to see my year coming to a close but  we still have much Masonic work and fun left. This years annual table lodge is set for October 16th I really would like to make this years Table Lodge the biggest ever.  Stay tuned to the Trestle Board for upcoming events.

          I would like to welcome our newest brothers Joseph Hubbard and Jim Gamboe, it is great to have you brothers in our lodge and look forward to helping you in your Masonic Journey.

          I would also like to announce that Golden Ark has retrieved our     Traveling Gavel from Lincoln Park Lodge. The brothers of Lincoln Park after allowing some of our brothers to participate in a truly unforgettable Past Masters Degree presented it back to us as a gift of thanks for attending that night, knowing that we did not have enough brothers to actually take it back they set aside rules and in a true Masonic act of  fellowship allowed us to take it home to Golden Ark. I would like to thank the officers and Members of Lincoln Park for this gift, brothers you are all welcome at Golden Ark any time. We are currently rewriting our Gavel rules to make it easier to take and retrieve.

          In closing I would like to say once again thank you to all of the brother and their families that have helped make this a great year for all of us at Golden Ark.

          Please remember in your prayers all of our Men and Women of the United States Armed Forces that protect our freedom every day, also all of the Police and Fire Fighters that keep us safe at home.

TIDINGS FROM THE WEST

It has been another busy month for Golden Ark.  There has been plenty of work to keep us busy and next month should be just a busy.  We had a great turn out for all the degrees this past month and I hope to see at great turnout this month as well.  I would like to invite all the brothers to lodge who have not been for a while to come and see the changes and watch a degree put on.  If you have not been, now is a great opportunity to come and brush up on your degrees and come for some fellowship.

Letter From The Secretary

Brothers, Family and Friends,

           When I was asked to take over the secretarial duties here at Golden Ark in June of this year, I was a bit intimidated, not knowing what lie ahead. I. At first felt overwhelmed, and unsure that I would be able to fulfill the duties that had been tasked, but knew that if I needed any help and/or guidance, I could call upon others for assistance. Over the past few months not only have many of you offered guidance, but you have also shown me, once again, just what our fraternity is all about. Some have given their time to help out, some have offered patience and guidance, some have offered a “listening ear”, and some have called just to let me know that things are going okay. I cannot properly express my gratitude to all of the Brothers, their Families, and Friends that have given these things, as well as others, to myself and the officers of Golden Ark. THANK YOU!

          For those that have not been in the office for a while, there have been some changes. We had a few desks, telephones, fax machines, and an industrial copier donated to the Lodge. We have been busy rearranging the layout of the office, as well as cleaning up the outside and inside of the building. Thanks to all who have pitched in.

          As of this writing, there are approximately 25 brothers that have not paid dues for 2006. It will be a sad day in Masonry, if all of these brothers are suspended. If you have not paid for 2006, please do so today! 2007 dues are right around the corner!

          Since taking over, I have noticed that there are quite a few Brothers that are utilizing the Internet, and I would like to request 2 things from all that do. 1) please send an e-mail to the Lodge (e-mail address is on the back page) so that we can ensure that we have current information, and 2) Please let us know if you are interested in receiving your Trestle Board via e-mail or on a web page, rather than by U.S. Mail. Sending the Trestle Board electronically will not only allow you to read and print when you wish, but will also save the Lodge some money. Please let us know as soon as possible, as I am in the process of setting up the web page and group address. Hope to hear from all of you soon!
