MESSAGE FROM THE EAST

Brethren, Family and Friends,

Well my year is almost over, and I must say, what an experience it has been. The past few months have proven to be quite busy. With all the new brothers we have been raising, I had a lot of work outside the lodge as well. The Grand Lodge proceedings in Mt. Pleasant, which was a great experience, The Grand Lodge Installation of officers where our own Worshipful Brother, Ira S. Slaven was installed as the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons of the State of Michigan, ( congratulation M.W.G.M. Ira and best wishes for your term as Grand Master). The Installation dinner following the ceremony was hosted by Golden Ark #595, and was huge success. We had close to 460 people in attendance at the Detroit Masonic Temple and a great time was had by all. At this time I would like to thank a couple of people for the hard work they done in all the preparation and time given to make sure everybody had a good time and things ran as smooth as they did.1st M.W.G.M. Ira and his lady Gayle who helped with most of the agenda of the evening, 2nd my wife Michelle for putting up with me while we were running around getting things in order especially the table centerpieces and seating arrangements, 3rd Brother John Miller and his lady Kim for there help with all the computer work and ticket handling and last but certainly not least W.B. Dean Barr who was our M.C. for the evening, THANK ALL OF YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!

June 19th I had the distinct privilege to travel to King Solomon’s Temple in Woodstock Ont. with our Grand Master and Jr. P.G.M. to witness the Installation of the Master and officers of Lodge, what a fantastic experience I had. The welcome we received was without question the most impressive thing I’ve had the honor of being a part of. To be in the presence of such fine Brothers and Masons including the G.M. , Deputy G.M. and several District Deputy G.M.’s of Canada and the province of Ont. and the Brothers of Woodstock Lodge has left a lasting impression on me that will not soon be forgotten.

This already being June, we will be dark for July and August except for July 2nd and August 6th which we will still have our regular business meetings. I trust that all the officers will keep studying, so when we come back in September we will pick up where we left off, doing the great job we have been doing up till now.

Unfortunately at this time I have to announce that we will no longer be doing breakfast on Sunday’s because of the fact that we were not making the money I had hoped to make and combined with the lack of participation we were at the point of loosing money and that is not what I am trying to do. Remember Brothers, a fund raiser is just that, to raise money to support cause. I wanted to do something for our lodge that would increase the safety of our loved ones, our property and ourselves by adding lights to our dark parking lot. I still would like to do some things to try to reach that goal, but we will only reach that goal with the support of the membership, friends, family and hopefully some other lodges. I hope that with future events we will see more support from everyone.

Future events may include a night of bowling, a casino bus trip, a bluegrass music night or if anyone has any other suggestions please feel free to bring them to my attention.

Fraternally Yours,

William J. Clawson

Worshipful Master

Letter From The Secretary

Brothers, Family and Friends,

Greetings. I hope that this letter finds all of you well, and enjoying your Summer.

It’s that time of year again, that I must remind all of those brothers that have not paid their dues that they will be suspended as of 30/Sept/07, if they are not paid in full. It pains me that we must go through this process each year, reminding brothers that their dues need to be paid, as well as the added cost for postage and supplies that are spent each year. Once again, brothers, if you have not paid your dues, please send them in today. Thank You!

Our annual Lodge Picnic will be held on Saturday, 18/Aug/07 at the Jay Cee park in Taylor. Come one, come all for a fun filled day of family, friends, and fellowship. Please contact or Junior Warden, Br. Russell Ouellette for more information.

.

Until Next Month

John R Miller
