- JOEL BARKER

Brethren, Families, and Friends,

Hello to all, well my year as Worshipful Master is coming to a close and this will be my second to last letter to all of you.

Thanks to all that participated in our annual Table Lodge although the turnout was less than we expected it was still a great time.

I would like to welcome our newest brother Dennis Barger. Dennis was raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason last month.

November is the month of our  annual election of officers as I am writing this letter before our business meeting I would in advance like to congratulate all of the newly elected officers for the Masonic year of 2007.

I want to take a minute to reflect on the year’s events and what it meant to me. I would first like to thank my wife Crystal who without her love and support I would not be where I am today, also my son Tyler and daughter Megan who allowed me to share a great deal of my time at lodge.  I will say that my officers played a KEY role in the success of the lodge this year. All of the Degree Work, Parties and other events were a huge success because of them and all of the brothers and family members that helped out. Although we saw a lot of success we also experienced some adversity, but it is our mistakes that allow us to learn and become better brothers and human beings.

Although this is my second time as Master of a lodge I must say that this year has by far been the most memorable. As I make my journey into the Shrine next month I will hopefully take all of the knowledge that I have gained from being the master of Golden Ark with me. We have our awards dinner and our annual Memorial Service coming up in November and I hope to see all of you at lodge.

Take care until next month

Sincerely and Fraternally

Your Worshipful Master

Worshipful Brother Rich Ouellette PM

TIDINGS FROM THE WEST

It has been another busy month for the officers Golden Ark.  There has been plenty of work to keep us busy and the Table Lodge was fantastic as always.  I   hope every one had a great time at the annual Table Lodge.  We had a great turn out for the degrees this past month.  Next month should be fairly busy with the election of Officers and planning for the up coming year.  I would just like to say it has been a pleasure serving as your Senior Warden for the year of 2006.

Fraternally Yours,

Brother.

Timothy Walker

Senior Warden

GREETINGS FROM THESOUTH

Hele Brothers!

Another month has passed, and we’re raising another Brother, How Exciting! It’s great to see so many Brothers taking part in our ritual work. Hopefully, the new brothers will be inspired to learn more and take a part in the rights/rites, and the whole Lodge will benefit.

As this Masonic year comes to a close, I would like to thank all of the Brothers for helping me in my endeavors as Junior Warden.

Fraternally,

George K. Graham Jr.

Junior Warden

Not one person ever joined Masonry because George Washington was a Mason. Not one person ever joined Masonry because Harry Truman was a Mason. Not one person ever joined because of any of our great Masonic heroes. Joining doesn't make you any of those people.

Not one person ever joined in order to give a million dollars a day to charity, or homes, or crippled children. You don't have to be a member to give money.

Not one person ever joined because our ritual is outstanding, or our minutes are accurate, or a hundred other things we worry about. They don't know about our ritual.

They joined because someone they knew and admired was a Mason. It could have been a father, a friend, a man down the street, or someone a thousand miles away.

Who, it didn't matter. They admired him and wanted to do the things he did, and they did it by the millions.

__________________________

Masons are men who voluntarily asked to join a lodge. They were accepted because they were good men who believe in God and hold high ethical and moral ideals. They go to meetings which they call the lodge, in order to learn and to teach what 'friendship, morality, and truth really involve, and to practice on a small scale the reality of brotherhood. They also have meetings open to their wives, children, and friends where they promote an understanding of the serious nature of the Fraternity by entertainment and sociability. Practical programs for charity and relief are planned and executed. The special kinship they feel for each other as a brotherhood is their deepest satisfaction

What do Younger Masons “REALLY” Want?

If older Masons really ask young Masons what we really want, I believe you will find that we want the fundamentals of the ancient and honorable Craft of Freemasons. We want the freemasonry of Anderson's constitutions. We want the freemasonry of our Fathers and Grand-fathers. We want to be challenged, stretched, educated, and trained. We want the opportunity to take our rough ashlars and begin to smooth them. We want to be Freemasons in the fullest sense of the word

Letter From The Secretary

Brothers, Family and Friends,

Where has the year gone!!?? Hard to believe that it is almost Thanksgiving—Time flies when you’re having fun!

It’s time, once again, for dues notices to be sent. If you have not yet received your Notification of Dues, you should have it soon. When paying your dues, please return the entire form, along with payment. Once received, I will stamp as “PAID”, and return the receipt to you. Thanks, in advance, for your cooperation.

I did not get a big response to receiving the Trestle Board via e-mail, but I am hoping that this was due to the “snail mail” taking so long to arrive. If you are interested, please contact the Lodge via e-mail so that we can add your address to our distribution list. I am also in the process of setting up a web server that will contain back issues of the Trestle Board. I will be placing a link on the Lodge LINKS web page as soon as it is finished, I will keep all of you updated as to the progress!

The Annual Table Lodge was, once again, another success. Worshipful Brother Mark Vardakis, PM from River Rouge #511 and DDI for district 5A, was the guest speaker for the evening. Thanks to all the members and visiting Brothers that attended. It was a great evening of fellowship and information.

We are currently preparing for Annual Election of Officers on November 7th. Hope to see you there!

With the Holidays right around the corner, it’s getting pretty hectic. Please be safe in your travels, and remember those less fortunate during these holidays.

Until Next Month

John R Miller
